A Timeless Southwest Ohio Wedding

Allison & Brandon walked hand in hand beside the water, laughing together as we photographed their very first portraits as husband and wife.

Allison’s dress caught the sunlight as it flowed behind her, her hair moved gently in the breeze, and Brandon could hardly take his eyes off of her.

These two were finally MARRIED!!

The way Brandon looks at Allison makes it so evident just how deeply he cherishes her, and the way she lights up around him says just as much in return.

Their friendship has been at the heart of their relationship from almost the very beginning.

They first crossed paths during their very first week of college. Afterward, Brandon started saying hello to her every day as they passed each other walking to and from class.

Then came the now-famous ping-pong incident.

Brandon and his friends were playing in their dorm lobby when Allison walked over to say hello right as he was mid-swing. Brandon completely missed the ball, everyone laughed, and he turned bright red.

But this time, something changed.

They started talking, immediately clicked, and after their first day really spending time together, they went on to spend the next 21 days in a row together.

Those early days were filled with parking lot dances, picnics, road trips, laughter, and a friendship that quickly became something so much more. Years later, Brandon planned a lakeside picnic for Allison, knowing how much she loved them, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend forever with him.

And now, here they were.

Walking hand in hand beside the water once again, only this time as husband and wife.

We first got a glimpse of just how much fun these two have together during their Downtown Columbus engagement session, and getting to spend their wedding day alongside them only made us love them more.

Allison is genuinely one of the kindest and most gracious people. She was so thoughtful toward everyone around her throughout the entire day, soaking in each moment while making the people she loves feel loved right back.

Brandon is gentle, thoughtful, and kind, and the way he cares for Allison is so evident. He cherishes her dearly, she absolutely lights up around him, and these two just have so much fun together.

That same love surrounded both of them throughout their wedding day.

Allison spent the morning getting ready with her sisters and bridesmaids, and there was something incredibly sweet about watching her sisters help her become a bride after Allison had stood beside them on their own wedding days.

As parents of two little girls ourselves, with another little one on the way, those moments between sisters hit us a little differently. Watching them gather around Allison, help with the finishing touches, and celebrate this milestone alongside her had us imagining our own children sharing moments like these someday.

Throughout the entire day, one thing was so evident: Allison & Brandon are deeply loved.

Their families and closest friends surrounded them with so much love and support. You could see it in the hugs, hear it in the speeches, and feel it in the way everyone celebrated right alongside them.

After Allison & Brandon exchanged vows at Allison’s church in Osgood, Ohio, we headed to the park

for their first portraits as husband and wife.

And as beautiful as those portraits were, our favorite part was watching these two be themselves.

They walked hand in hand. They laughed constantly. Brandon knew exactly how to make Allison smile, and Allison absolutely lit up around him.

It was the same friendship we had seen during their engagement session, only now we were photographing them as husband and wife.

By the time we arrived at their reception, it truly felt like we had spent the day celebrating dear friends.

And then Allison’s brother Aaron took the microphone.

With five sisters and one brother in the family, apparently there has been a long-running joke over who gets to claim the title of “Aaron’s favorite sister.”

During his speech, Aaron pointed out that Allison had accomplished something none of his other married sisters had before her: she had actually asked him to give a speech at her wedding.

Naturally, this called for an award.

Out came an actual plaque declaring Allison the winner of the “Aaron’s Favorite Sister Award.”

We were laughing right along with everyone as Allison proudly held up her new title, and it was such a perfect glimpse into this family—the inside jokes, the years of memories, and the relationships behind all of the people surrounding Allison & Brandon that day.

Those are the moments that make wedding photographs mean more and more with time.

The beautiful portraits, the dress, the flowers, and all of the carefully chosen details become part of the story right alongside the people and moments that made the day theirs.

Her sisters gathering around Allison as she became a bride. The hugs and laughter between family and friends. Her brother handing her the hilarious family award they had joked about for years. Their closest people cheering them on.

And the way Allison & Brandon looked at each other while laughing together beside the water, finally husband and wife.



Allison & Brandon, what an absolute joy it has been getting to know you two.

From having you in front of our cameras for the first time to watching you walk hand in hand as husband and wife, we have loved getting to document this season of your story.

You two have such a beautiful friendship at the foundation of your relationship. The way you laugh together, care for one another, build each other up, and simply love being side by side is something so special to witness.

After spending your wedding day with the people who know and love you best, it’s so easy to see just how loved the two of you are—and how much love you give right back.

We hope these photographs always bring you back to this day. To the laughter. To the people who surrounded you. To all of the little moments in between. And most of all, to the excitement of looking at each other and realizing that after all those years of daily hellos, parking lot dances, picnics, road trips, and dreaming about forever, you were finally husband and wife.
